This course aids clinicians in translating clinical research to everyday practice. Interactive case studies and article critiques are utilized throughout the session to allow participants to develop and improve their understanding of clinical research and its implementation in every practice.

Aaron M. Roman is an Assistant Professor at Salus University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He received his B.A., M.A., and Au.D. from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Roman’s has clinical expertise in auditory processing across the lifespan, cognitive screening protocols, and aural rehabilitation for individuals with cochlear implants. His research interests include assessing the impact of hearing loss on cognitive impairment as well as evaluating hearing loss assessment programs, including newborn hearing screening programs. His work has been disseminated through peer-reviewed publications and local, national, and international presentations.
Ryan McCreery, Ph.D. is the Director of Audiology and Director of the Audibility, Perception and Cognition Laboratory at Boys Town National Research Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. In addition to leading a group of 18 clinical audiologists who provide services across the lifespan, Ryan’s NIH-supported research program explores the factors that influence speech recognition in children with normal hearing and children who wear hearing aids.
