This topic highlights some critical data and encourages more in depth and thorough hearing aid verification (not simply using the automated modes) and requires people to truly think for themselves as they learn this skill! End result - most patients gain greater speech audibility to preserve that precious discrimination that erodes with under amplification. GREAT CLASS!

This is difficult subject matter to communicate clearly. This author did an excellent job. The understanding is vital given, as the author said, the ubiquitous use of the technology by all modern manufacturers. I already know this learning will positively affect my work. The more knowledgeable I am and the more skills I develop, the more my patients can potentially benefit. Better fittings equals better hearing. I am anxious to observe the results of this course in my probe mic measurements.

This is technology that I implement in my hearing aid fittings frequently. I like to counsel my patients about this feature so they better understand realistic expectations, especially when considering speech in noise. This course will definitely help me explain this feature in simpler terms so my patients better understand the challenges they'll face hearing clearly or while listening in noise.

This dissertation was a study in complexity. This course exposes how manufacturers in their quest to be the quintessential experts can make a useful fitting strategy so intricate that an Audiologist has to take a course to understand and employ it with any confidence. I have shunned using frequency lowering with software that I cannot fully comprehend but now I will know where to go for the information. Thank you for your diligence, Dr. Alexander; and, Hat's Off!

While much of the jargon used might not apply to the every day clinician, having the background and understanding of how and why Frequency-lowering can be affective was very helpful to understanding what patient's might be experiencing when this kind of technology is used. And then building on that to actually applying it while giving resources that can be used in prescriptive fittings makes it very useful in situations of utilizing this technology.
