Its just a fascinating topic. But I think many things could be defined more comprehensively. I recognize that this could be my own want of attention, but it did strike me this way. TFS, for instance, is described as a part of a spectral graph, and then as a patient's "declining TFS with aging", etc. Declining TFS would be a decline in the sound measured, it would seem. But I'm guessing that what is intended is a decline in TFS perception.

Regardless of its purpose, this article helped me understand that loss of cochlear hair cells reduces accuracy tuning for frequency, while cochlear synaptopathy reduces the fidelity of amplitude scaling. Pretty important conceptual breakthrough.
