The Children's Hearing Institute, Educational Outreach Program is pleased to announce an upcoming conference, "Wrightslaw - Special Education Law and Advocacy Training Conference" that will take place on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY.
The Wrightslaw Seminar works to provide accurate, up-to-date information about special education law, education law, and advocacy for children with disabilities. The purpose is to educate and inform all indivduals who represent theinterest of children with disabilities and their families. This program focuses on special education law, rights and responsibilities, tests and measurements to measure progress and regression, SMART IEPs and introduction to tactics and strategies for effective advocacy. The Wrightslaw program is designed to meet the needs of parents, advocates, educators, attorneys and health care providers who represent the interest of children with ANY type of disability.
Conference faculty is Pete Wright, Esq., co-founder of Wrightslaw and a catalyst for education reform, who is nationally known for his work in the field of special education and advocacy.
