At the recent Zürich Marathon, 46 employees of Sonova Holding AG ran to support the charitable Hear the World Foundation. Approximately 8000 CHF was raised thanks to the generous support of various sponsors, who donated money for every kilometer run. All donations go to the charitable Hear the World Foundation, which helps people affected by hearing loss worldwide.
By supporting the charitable Hear the World Foundation, Sonova – the world’s leading manufacturer of hearing systems – demonstrates its commitment to equal opportunities and a better quality of life for people with hearing loss. As part of this commitment, programs and fundraising campaigns have been set-up, enabling Sonova’s employees to make an active contribution to the foundation’s work.
We run for Hear the World
This is the 2nd successive year in which Sonova employees have raised money for Hear the World in the Zürich marathon. This time around, the 46 runners managed to raise approximately CHF 8000, all of which will go towards the work of the Hear the World Foundation. “We are incredibly proud of the huge dedication demonstrated by our employees, who showed great effort and endurance in running the Zürich Marathon for the foundation,” said Sarah Kreienbühl, Group Vice President Corporate HRM and Corporate Communications at Sonova and a member of the Hear the World Foundation Board. “Our special thanks go to all our sponsors who motivated and actively supported us with their generous donations.”
Global commitment to good hearing
The Hear the World Foundation was set up by the Sonova Group in 2006 and is committed to creating a world in which every person has the opportunity to hear well. Since it was established, the charitable foundation has supported over 55 projects on all five continents, helping thousands of people with hearing loss to hear better and thus improve their quality of life. One top priority of the Hear the World Foundation is the provision of audiological aid for children affected by hearing loss, for which the foundation provides hearing aids and organizes long-term support in collaboration with local partners. This enables children with hearing loss to receive ongoing professional help and gives them an opportunity for a better life.
