SOMERSET, NJ February 26 - Oticon, Inc. announced today that online voting for this year’s Oticon Focus on People Awards is now open at oticonusa.com. The website features the 12 finalists who represent the "best of the best" from this year's nominations in each of four categories – Student, Adult, Advocacy and Practitioner. Website visitors are invited to cast their vote for the finalists who most inspire them. Tabulations on the total number of votes received by each finalist will help to determine who will be the first, second and third place winners in each category.
The three finalists in the Practitioner category are attached (left to right): Tabitha Parent Buck, Au.D., Saleem Assaf, MBA, HIS, Tina Childress, Ed AuD.
“Our goal is to reach as many people as possible with the inspirational stories of our Focus on People Award finalists and to give people across the US the opportunity to add their voices to the selection of the winning finalists,” says Nancy Palmere, senior marketing manager who heads the awards program. “We encourage everyone to alert staff, clients, family and anyone they think will enjoy reading about the accomplishments of some remarkable people who show that hearing loss does not limit a person’s ability to achieve, contribute and inspire!”
The Oticon Focus on People Awards is a national awards program that honors hearing impaired students, adults and advocacy volunteers who have demonstrated through their accomplishments that hearing loss does not limit a person’s ability to make a difference in their families, communities and the world. By spotlighting people with hearing loss and their contributions, Oticon aims to change outdated stereotypes that discourage people from seeking professional help for their hearing loss.
Voting is open now through March 31 at oticonusa.com. Winners will be announced in April. To vote and to learn more about the Focus on People Awards, visit oticonusa.com or the Oticon Expo Page on AudiologyOnline.
