Please voice your opinion to support licensed audiologists in Virginia, who are asking to be allowed a waiver in taking the hearing aid specialist examination.
In the 2011 legislature, the House overwhelmingly supported the bill, however, it didn't pass in the Senate committee. The Senate did ask for more study (which the Hearing Aid Board provided). The Board has allowed for public comments supporting the change in the HA Specialty code that will allow audiologists to be exempt from examination.

You do not need to be from Virginia to comment - perhaps you can express your support by acknowledging that other states have long abandoned the need for either two licenses and/or minimally an audiologist having to take an exam for a dispensing license.
