US News and World Report recently released their list of "America's Best Graduate Schools 2009". For this year's rankings data was collected from more than 12,000 graduate programs. Vanderbilt University was ranked as the number-one graduate program in the field of Audiology by the US News and World Report methodology. The top-5 Audiology programs are as follows based on the rankings:
Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN
University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA
University of Washington, Seattle, WA
University of Texas-Dallas (Callier Center)
Washington University in St. Louis
All rankings are based solely on the results of peer assessment surveys which were sent to deans, other administrators, and/or faculty at fully accredited programs for each discipline. Respondents rated the academic quality of programs on a 5-point scale with "outstanding" being a 5 and "marginal" a 1. If a respondent did not have enough knowledge to rate a program, they were instructed to select "don't know".
