Nearly Three Hundred Unitron Employees from Nine Countries Welcomed to Kitchener-Waterloo for Global Platform and Product Launch Event

May 16, 2011 - Kitchener, Canada - Unitron, a global provider of world-class hearing innovations today welcomed the world to its doorstep, bringing together nearly 300 employees from nine countries around the world to ready the organization for the global release of Era™, Unitron's next generation sound processing platform, the launch of its new Quantum™ and Moxi™ hearing instrument product families, and the kick-off of a new corporate tag line, "Hearing matters".

Hosted by Unitron CEO, Michael Tease, the global conference, entitled Ignite! brings together Unitron's globally extended family of researchers, audiologists, product experts, marketers, and software and hardware engineering professionals who are united through a common force of belief to make a difference in the lives of people with hearing loss. This year's event is particularly significant for the Unitron team, as it marks the global release of the company's next generation sound processing platform, Era™ technology advancement three years in the making.

The event is also timed to coincide with May's Speech and Hearing Awareness Month, an annual campaign that brings thousands of professionals involved in the treatment of speech, language and hearing disorders together to create awareness, and encourage early detection and prevention.

"This is transformative year for Unitron. Our global family, will gather together as we launch our next generation platform and two new product families. It has take more than two years of planning, development and validation by a team of talented and committed individuals to bring this to fruition," explains Unitron CEO Michael Tease. "The launch of the Era platform is particularly significant for our hearing healthcare customers and their clients. New platform launches occur sparingly in the industry - usually every five years. When they do occur, they lay the groundwork for significant technology advancement enabling listening experience improvements for the hearing instrument wearer. I am proud to have this opportunity to bring our global team to our corporate headquarters in Waterloo Region, and to build with them an exciting new future for Unitron.
