Kitchener, Ontario - March 29, 2007 - Unitron Hearing is assisting children with hearing loss in Waterloo Region through a community sponsorship with KidsAbility Centre for Child Development.
Unitron Hearing is pleased to support KidsAbility's "Kids Can't Wait" Radiothon. The radiothon is an exciting event to raise awareness and funds in support of KidsAbility. During the event there is live entertainment by Erick Traplin, Kids on the Block, and Mad Science. Wings of Paradise are on hand with their Insect Encounter, and there is skating on the ice pad for a small donation.
"KidsAbility offers many valuable services including those that help with the diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss in infants and children. We are pleased to support them in their campaign initiatives," said Bruce Brown, Vice-President of Global Marketing.
Unitron Hearing and KidsAbility are an ideal community partnership as both are committed to making life better for people with hearing loss. KidsAbility provides speech therapy services for preschool children experiencing hearing loss, communication delays or disorders in language, articulation, fluency and voice. KidsAbility is also a partner in the Ontario Infant Hearing Program. Through this program, hearing screenings are provided to more than 1,000 babies and toddlers in the Region each year. Families are provided with resources and support to assist with the challenges of a newly diagnosed child with hearing impairment.
"KidsAbility is very appreciative of its 'Kids Can't Wait' Radiothon donors, like Unitron Hearing," said Lisa Talbot, Executive Director, KidsAbility Centre for Child Development. "We applaud their efforts to helping to make a difference by ensuring children in our community receive the support, services, and help that they need to reach their full potential."
