Unitron Hearing Supports Audiology Students at The University of Western Ontario

September 4, 2007, Kitchener, Ontario, Canada - Unitron Hearing today announced its support of The University of Western Ontario's Master of Clinical Science Audiology program. Over the next three years, Unitron Hearing's monetary and gift-in-kind donations will support several new initiatives for students training to become qualified audiologists. These initiatives include:

  • Unitron Hearing Entrance Award in Clinical Audiology

  • Unitron Hearing Distance Clinical Education Bursaries

  • Endowed gift toward the William A. Cole Award for Excellence in Audiology Fund

  • Textbook donation

  • Gift-in-Kind support to benefit the Advanced Amplification Course, the H.A. Leeper Speech and Hearing Clinic, and teaching resources for the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders.
According to Dr. Jim Weese, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Western, "Hearing is crucial for communication, speech and language learning, and social interaction. This investment by Unitron Hearing will help prepare our audiology students for their work as highly-qualified professionals, dedicated to improving the quality of life for many individuals.
