A digital series offering advanced features within everyone's reach

Philadelphia AAA -
Hearing aid manufacturer Unitron Hearing is introducing UnisonÔ, the latest member of their complete family of digital hearing aid products, at the 14th AAA conference in Philadelphia. This breakthrough series takes full advantage of the many capabilities of digital sound processing.

Designed to offer the features and advantages of digital technology to patients at all budget levels, Unison is flexible enough to offer hearing solutions for mild to profound hearing losses. Advanced digital processing creates clear, comfortable sound that helps maximize speech intelligibility.

"This is a significant launch for Unitron Hearing", said company President & CEO Michael Jones. "With the addition of Unison, Unitron Hearing now offers a full line of digital products. This is an important step as we position ourselves to be a leading supplier of digital hearing aids."

Unison features include four selectable processing schemes, four bands for detailed frequency shaping, adjustable crossovers, multiple listening programs, 'quiet mode' expansion, programmable directional microphones, manual volume control, feedback manager, low battery warning, high power BTE and optional telecoil. 'Quiet mode' reduces the gain for very soft inputs, yet preserves moderately soft inputs, such as speech, to solve the problems of perceived hearing aid noise that is an issue for some clients. Unison's advanced VectorÔ Directional System, which can be programmed into any of the listening programs, improves speech intelligibility in noisy environments.

The Unison series is available in two lines: Unison 2 and Unison 4.

Unison 2 features four bands for maximum fitting flexibility, adjustable kneepoints, ratios and crossover frequency. Two-channel WDRC2 provides the ability to adjust high and low channels independently and amplify soft and loud sounds with precision for comfortable, natural, digital sound. The ability to program for linear processing as well as peak gain of 60 dB to 70 dB (ITE and BTE respectively), and two listening programs make Unison 2 ideally suited for clients with severe to profound hearing losses.

Unison 4 features four bands, four channels, and a choice of four processing types -Digital WDRC4, ASP Noise Suppression, Linear Limiting and Adaptive Compression. Unison 4's three programs provide maximum flexibility to custom fit individual hearing loss profiles. Three adjustable crossovers make Unison 4 particularly effective for unusual audiogram configurations.

The Unison digital series is available in a full range of styles, from behind-the-ear (BTE) instrument to CIC models.

Like all Unitron Hearing digital products, fitting Unison is fast, easy and precise with Unifit, our fully integrated fitting software. Unifit offers unprecedented flexibility, accuracy and ease of use for experienced to new fitters of Unitron Hearing products, allowing you to use as many or as few of the fitting tools as you choose.
