Chicago, February, 2008 — In an effort to utilize the strength of local leadership and market knowledge, Todd A. Murray has been appointed President, GN Hearing Care Corporation North America. Mr. Murray will assume responsibility for the U.S. ReSound business in addition to his current role as President, Beltone and GN Hearing Care Canada.
"North America represents a critical market for the company, and I welcome this challenge as we work to grow our unique brands and overall market presence." said Murray. He added that the continued strength of the businesses is based on separate and distinct commercial operations.
"This change is consistent with the successful business model established in the company's European and Asian markets," said Mike van der Wallen, CEO, GN ReSound. He emphasized that the regionalized organizational structure will help GN ReSound keep a geographical perspective on the markets while maintaining its strong brand differentiation and unique business strategies.
Prior to joining the Company, Murray held several key management positions at Cole National Corporation in Cole Managed Vision and Information Technology prior to his role as V.P. of Pearle Vision Operations.
Murray holds a BA degree from Brown University with an Economics concentration and a MBA from Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He resides in the Chicago area with his wife and three children.
