West Lafayette, IN - Thanks to donations from audiologists across the country, the AFA has almost reached Starkey's challenge to raise $50,000. "We have raised $45,000 to date and have a little more than a week to raise the remaining $5000," according to AFA Executive Director Susan Paarlberg.
Donations will be used to transition audiology to a doctoring profession by:
Promoting the AuD degree as the distinctive designator for audiologists.
Providing scholarships to AuD students and practitioners.
Promoting limited licensure status and direct reimbursement.
Working to establish the AuD degree as a condition for new licensure.
Educating the public about the AuD and the profession.
