This year on AO, we’re focused on producing exceptional courses at both ends of the learning spectrum - basic courses and advanced courses. So let me tell you about a few special offerings of each coming up over the next few months.

Frequency Lowering - The Whole Shebang (Advanced)

Dr. Gus Mueller invited two leading researchers on frequency lowering, Drs. Josh Alexander and Susan Scollie, to discuss literally everything you need to know about this technology - how it works, who is and is not a candidate, clinical fitting tips, pitfalls, and most commonly asked questions.  The result is an incredibly comprehensive 3-part series on frequency lowering (offered for up to 0.6 CEUs) with the final piece published this month, appropriately entitled, The Whole Shebang.  What an amazing resource for the profession!

Auditory Electrophysiology Update: Evidence-based Clinical Applications (Basic to Advanced)

Organized by Dr. Jay Hall and presented along with Dr. Sam Atcherson, this 4-part webinar series (up to .4 CEUs offered) will provide something for everyone, from foundational principles to emerging research and new applications.  Join us each Wednesday this month for the whole nine yards!

Dr. Brian FligorNoise Induced Hearing Loss Webinar Series (Intermediate to Advanced)

Now in its 6th year, our Noise Induced Hearing Loss Webinar Series each July features Dr. Brian Fligor and other leading experts discussing the latest research on hearing loss from noise, and its clinical implications.  That’s over 20 hours of continuing education in this important topic area!  Woot!

Rush University logoContemporary Issues in Clinical Audiology, From Diagnosis to Rehabilitation - Presented in Partnership with Rush University (All Levels)

We are so excited to partner with the esteemed faculty at Rush University for a series of webinars in August.  Stay tuned for more details!

Back to Basics

Dr. Maureen Valente has assembled an amazing team of experts to take us all back to the basics - whether you’re an audiology student or an experienced clinician.  The 5-part series beginning in September will cover hearing science and acoustics, to calibration, to diagnostics, to pediatrics - in other words, the whole kit and kaboodle!

Wow, all that AND Industry News?

P.S. The phrase "the whole enchilada" became popular after Herb Kalmbach said it to John Ehrlichman on one of the Nixon tapes.  Kalmbach asked Ehrlichman if John Dean had spilled "the whole enchilada" to the U.S. Attorney in hope of gaining immunity.
