American Speech-Language-Hearing Association to Present Media Award at November 2007 Convention in Boston for Network's Coverage of Hearing Loss Risk
Telemundo is the winner of a 2007 Media Award from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Juan Pedro Somoza will accept the award on behalf of the network in a ceremony during the association's Convention at the Boston Convention Center on Friday, November 16. The network is being recognized for superior coverage of the ASHA public education campaign, "American Tuned In Today... But Tuned Out Tomorrow?" Broadcast stories about the campaign, designed to raise awareness of the risk of hearing loss due to the use of popular technology devices such as iPods and MP3 players, reached millions of Hispanic viewers both nationally and globally.
