TEDPA (Telecommunication Equipment Distribution Program Association) is a national member organization whose mission it is to advocate for the appropriate distribution of specialized telecommunications equipment for people with disabilities, namely those who are hard-of-hearing of deaf. This organization is unique in that it provides nationwide resources for state-funded telecommunications programs. TEDPA's main goal is to provide services and equipment at the state level in an effort to assist individuals with hearing loss in their daily routines. Such technologies include TTY, Relay, and amplified telephones.
Hearing professionals can now easily utilize TEDPA's resources and contact information for continued client care across the nation. Hearing impaired individuals can search TEDPA for what technology is available to them that may not have been previously recommended. Those who qualify may receive free services, depending on the state's equipment distribution program (EDP). Several states have already adopted EDPs to date.
