PITTSBURGH, March 3, 2017 – Educators and clinical instructors will gather on June 15 – 17, 2017 for the seventh biennial CSD Teaching Conference at the University of Pittsburgh.  This year’s focus will address the art and science of teaching counseling in the classroom and clinic.

The Communication Science and Disorders Teaching Conference entitled, “Teaching Counseling in the Classroom and Clinic,” will be chaired by Catherine Palmer, PhD.  The goal of the conference is to provide audiology faculty and clinical instructors an opportunity to discuss best practice in teaching the topic of counseling.  Conference faculty are nationally recognized educators who will share examples of course/clinical handouts, practicum strategies, reference lists, take-home assignments, lab exercises, practical exams, and more.  Break-out sessions and poster sessions will give participants an opportunity to share clinical teaching ideas with colleagues.  Participants will have access to conference materials and contact information to facilitate ongoing interaction about counseling and related topics.  We are pleased to have Robert Sweetow (Professor Emeritus, University of California, San Francisco) as our keynote speaker and Lisa Scott (Florida State University) as our moderator for the program.

Registration for the conference has not yet opened.  To be added to the registration mailing list, please email Lori Zitelli, AuD at zitellild@upmc.edu.
