Share:

From Dr. Douglas L. Beck, Editor-In-Chief

Dear Colleagues and Concerned Consumers: There is a process occurring in Washington, DC which MAY allow your monies spent on hearing aids to be deducted/allowed from your income tax. This is an extremely important process, and I would like to encourage you to ACT by writing a few letters to help support this legislation. Special thanks to STARKEY for supplying the sample letters and the links below, and thanks to all of the participants helping to make this proposal a reality!

Best Regards and thanks!

Hearing Aid Legislation moves to House and Senate
The Hearing Aid Assistance Tax Credit Act is now under review in both the United States Congress and Senate. The bill would provide up to a $1000 tax credit on hearing aid purchases. To read how you can support the proposed legislation, click here.

Important Hearing Aid Legislation
Known as H.R. 3103 in the congress and S.B. 2055 in the senate, the Hearing Aid Assistance Tax Credit Act would allow persons over age 55, or parents of a hearing impaired dependent child a $500 tax credit per hearing instrument purchased, once every five years. We urge all consumers and hearing professionals to contact your congressional representative and senators in support of the bills.

The Hearing Aid Assistance Tax Credit Act would help countless Americans who need hearing instruments, but simply cannot afford them. The benefits of reducing special education costs for children, as well as injuries, psychological and mental disorders associated with hearing loss in older adults are immense.
