January 14, 2014 - Sycle.net has announced the inclusion of new required forms into its software to ensure professionals are up to date with the latest changes in billing, coding and reimbursement.
New HCFA Claim Form
The National Uniform Claim Committee (NUCC) has adopted the 02/12 1500 Health Insurance Claim Form (1500 Claim Form). This updated 1500 Claim Form accommodates reporting needs for ICD-10 and aligns with requirements in the Accredited Standards Committee X12 (ASC X12) Health Care Claim: Professional (837P) Version 5010 Technical Report Type 3.
Some payers have begun accepting this form. Payers must receive and process paper claims submitted only on the revised 1500 Claim Form by April 1, 2014, so we have implemented it now to give you plenty of time to get comfortable with it.

ICD-10 Conversion
ICD-10 is a new set of diagnosis codes. The deadline for implementation of this new set of codes is October 1, 2014, but some payers may request these codes prior to the deadline. Sycle has implemented ICD-10 and you will notice a few changes associated with this.
In the appointment summary and the HCFA form itself, you will now see an option called “ICD Indicator” which will allow you to select “0″ for ICD-10 and “9″ for ICD-9. Until the deadline, this drop-down will default to ICD-9, but you can always select either ICD-9 or ICD-10 by selecting the appropriate indicator.
Sycle has also added a new filter to make it easier to find diagnosis codes. The diagnosis code selector (available via the Appointment Summary or the HCFA itself) now allows you to search for diagnosis codes by typing the description or the code into the search box. Simply click the “filter” button to search for the description or code you need, then select from the list of available codes.
