Step Up for People with Hearing Loss with the HLAA Walk4Hearing

Share:

BETHESDA, Md.--()--The Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) is thrilled to announce its 20 Walk4Hearing events across the nation this year, including two new locations in Buffalo, New York and Louisville, Kentucky. The HLAA Walk4Hearing has raised more than $12 million and welcomed nearly 80,000 walkers since 2006, making it the nation’s largest and fastest-growing hearing loss fundraising and public awareness Walk in the country. Registration is easy (and free) at Walk4Hearing.org.

Funds raised support programs and services for people with hearing loss such as financial assistance for hearing aids and hearing assistive technologies, live captioning, and advocacy efforts on federal and state levels.

Join us in stepping up for hearing loss by accomplishing one of the following:

  1. Participate in a Walk4Hearing event and join the #HearingLossChallenge while walking to make a difference! Ear plugs provided by Cochlear Americas will be available at the Walks so that you too can experience hearing loss for a day.
  2. Support the Over-the-Counter Hearing Aid Act of 2017, [S.670 or H.R.1652]. Tweet showing support using #HLAA4OTC.
  3. Advocate on your own behalf. Use a list of suggestions to help you get started or share this Communications Tip Card with family, friends, and co-workers. Tweet about your experience using #CommAccess!
