Minneapolis, June 29, 2010 - Starkey Laboratories, Inc., one of the world's leading hearing technology companies, is proud to announce that it is the recipient of two awards for Sweep Technology, which is featured on S Series™ iQ hearing aids. Starkey was honored with a Stevie® Award in the Best New Innovation category during The 2010 American Business Awards(SM). In addition, Sweep Technology collected a Silver 2010 International Design Excellence Award (IDEA®) from the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA).

Sweep Technology is available on Starkey behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids. A touch panel on the spine of the hearing aid allows wearers to adjust volume up or down and change the memory setting with the simple sweep or touch of a finger.
