Starkey to be Recognized at Edison Gala on April 5 in New York
Minneapolis, March 3, 2011 - Starkey Laboratories, Inc., one of the world's leading hearing technology companies, is proud to announce that SoundLens™, its invisible-in-the-canal hearing aid, has been named a 2011 Edison Best New Product Awards finalist in the Science & Medical - Handheld or Miniaturized Devices category.
SoundLens is Starkey's custom invisible-in-the-canal hearing aid designed to deliver high quality, customization and performance, SoundLens harnesses the power of Voice iQ, Starkey's noise management and speech preservation system designed to reduce the noise between syllables. SoundLens overcomes the hearing aid stigma by allowing a hearing impaired person to wear a hearing instrument that no one else can see.
"We are thrilled to be a finalist for the distinguished Edison Awards," said Jerry Ruzicka, President of Starkey. "By incorporating state-of-the-art systems and technology, SoundLens has been able to provide patients with an exciting new option for their hearing health care."
Winners of the Gold, Silver and Bronze awards in all 12 Edison Award categories will be announced April 5, 2011, at the historic Capitale ballroom in New York, N.Y. In addition to announcing this year's Best New Product Award recipients, the evening will feature the presentation of prestigious Edison Achievement Awards to Alan Mulally, CEO of Ford Motor Company, and John Hendricks, Founder and Chairman of Discovery Communications, both who have made a significant and lasting contribution to innovation throughout their careers.
