The Verge compiles list of ‘100 gadgets that made a difference and defined the 2010s’

Eden Prairie, Minnesota (December 13, 2019) – This week, Livio AI, the world’s first multi-purpose hearing aid, earned a place on The Verge’s list of 100 best gadgets of the decade. Other companies on the list include: Apple’s iPhone 4, Amazon Echo, Tesla Model S, the Instant Pot and the Hoverboard.

The Verge is a news resource for millions of readers, covering the intersection of technology, science, art and culture. According to the publication, “As consumer devices and traditional hearing aid tech increasingly cross paths, Starkey’s Livio AI hearing aid is the one device clearly pointing the way forward.” It continues, “In addition to being a hearing aid, Livio AI is a fully modern consumer gadget: it tracks your steps, detects falls, streams music and has a built-in assistant.” It justifies its selection by stating, “… in-ear tech is an increasingly big deal, and the future looks something like what Starkey has sketched out.”

Livio AI, the world’s first Healthable hearing aid, has revolutionized what hearing health means. It features integrated sensors and artificial intelligence, providing superior sound quality and the ability to track both body and brain health. By providing direct monitoring of physical and cognitive activity, including fall alerts and transcription features, Livio AI raises awareness about the deep connection between treating hearing loss and reducing health risks, like cognitive decline and heart disease.

“We are very honored to be on this list and in the company of other innovative organizations,” said Starkey CEO Bill Austin. “I’m grateful to the entire Starkey team for continuing to push us to break technological boundaries and transform hearing health as we know it. We look forward to what the next decade will bring.”
