mini Packs Technology and Power into Discreet, Flexible Package

Minneapolis, Sept. 12, 2008 - Starkey Laboratories, Inc., one of the world's leading hearing technology companies, has expanded its Destiny line to include the Destiny mini with BluWave Signal Processing.™ The Destiny mini, a behind-the-ear hearing aid offers the best-in-class features expected from Starkey's Destiny line of products in a discreet, comfortable package.

Destiny mini provides fitting flexibility so hearing care professionals can provide the most appropriate solutions for their patients. And with its instant-fit capability available in both open and occluded earbuds, patients can walk away from their appointment with a hearing solution the very same day. When a custom mold is appropriate, Destiny mini can be fit with either thin or standard tubing.

Starkey's Destiny line offers a number of specific features that set it apart from other hearing aids and address users' most common complaints including:

  • Active Feedback Intercept (AFI), the industry's leader for feedback elimination, provides up to 25 dB of added stable gain, delivering more audible speech to more wearers, more often.

  • Directional Speech Detector (DSD), an automatic system optimized by BluWave Signal Processing, gives patients the best performing directional system on the market today. With industry-leading free-field and KEMAR DIs available and the lowest operational noise floor, patients are comfortable and speech is audible in almost any situation.

  • Acoustic Signature characterizes incoming sounds by sorting the frequency, timing and intensity of the sound sources and applies optimal frequency and compression parameters.

  • Automatic Telephone Response (ATR) automatically adjusts the hearing aid for telephone use.
