MINNEAPOLIS, June 08, 2015 – Starkey Hearing Technologies is excited to announce that our Halo Made for iPhone® hearing aids have received a Professional Runner Up honor in the Commercial Equipment category in the 2015 Core77 Design Awards program.

“It is an incredible honor that Halo has received, especially because it was the only hearing aid technology product honored in the category,” said Brandon Sawalich, Senior Vice President at Starkey Hearing Technologies. “We have been developing technology to provide patients with better hearing for nearly 50 years, and it’s rewarding to see that those efforts are being recognized.”

The da Vinci® Xi™ Surgical System was the Professional Winner in the Commercial Equipment category, but Halo was the only hearing aid honored by Core77 for the Commercial Equipment category. The Jury for the category included Dan Harden, President, CEO and Principal Designer of Whipsaw, Founder of Bridge Design Bill Evans, Vice President of Design for Crown Equipment Corporation Mike Gallagher, and CDO and Co-Founder of Cookbrite Sam Lucente.

Halo was honored for its innovative design, technological advances and intent for social improvement for health and wellness.  Due to this honor, Starkey’s Halo is now also in the running to win a Core77 Community Choice Award—an honor voted upon worldwide from June 3-22.

The Core77 Design Awards celebrates excellence in design and includes 14 categories to allow designers, researchers and makers the chance to share the passion and purpose behind their projects.
