Music lovers around the world can get involved, make an impact, and share the gift of hearing.
MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Starkey Hearing Foundation is pleased to announce a dynamic new partnership with Spotify, the global digital streaming music service. Designed to support the Foundation’s effort to give the gift of hearing to people in need around the world, the partnership grew out of a Starkey Hearing Foundation mission trip to the Philippines in 2014.
“Last November, Spotify became a sponsor and joined us in Puerto Princesa, Philippines, to help us bring hearing to the community,” says Richard Brown, president and board chair for Starkey Hearing Foundation. “Based on the success of this incredible experience, we all recognized the opportunity to do more to accomplish our shared vision to bring hearing, and music, to people around the world.”
As part of this exciting global initiative, Spotify sent volunteers to the Philippines, donated Spotify Premium to the Foundation team, and is providing a multi-faceted, interactive media campaign to raise awareness of Starkey Hearing Foundation among more than 60 million Spotify listeners in 58 countries. Starkey Hearing Foundation will be featured on spotify.com/change, where users can learn more about its work through the stories of three individuals.
Visitors to the platform can also donate to support the Foundation’s work. For every $100 donated, Starkey Hearing Foundation can provide hearing care for one person.
“We love music and believe that everyone should have the opportunity to experience it. At a fundamental level, Starkey Hearing Foundation makes this possible for so many people around the world,” says Kerry Steib, director of social impact at Spotify. “We’re excited to create meaningful ways for our community of music fans to experience their work and get involved.”

About Starkey Hearing Foundation
Starkey Hearing Foundation uses hearing as a vehicle to reflect caring and change lives around the world. Disabling hearing loss affects more than 360 million people, including 32 million children, worldwide, yet many do not have access to the hearing devices that can help them. As a member of Clinton Global Initiative, Starkey Hearing Foundation has pledged to provide more than one million hearing aids to people in need this decade and currently gives more than 175,000 hearing aids annually. In addition to giving the gift of hearing through worldwide hearing missions, Starkey Hearing Foundation promotes hearing health awareness and education through the Listen Carefully campaign and provides hearing instruments to low-income Americans through the Hear Now program.
