Minneapolis, Oct. 15, 2010 - Starkey Laboratories, Inc., a global leader in hearing technology, is proud to announce that the Starkey Hearing Foundation teamed up with the National Association of Broadcasters Education (NAB) Foundation to deliver the gift of hearing to Washington, D.C., area children recently. The mission, sponsored by the Caring Institute, was held at the national headquarters of the NAB, where more than 125 free hearing aids were distributed to underprivileged, hearing impaired children.

"There could not be a more perfect partnership," said Bill Austin, CEO and Founder of the Starkey Hearing Foundation. "Our nation's broadcasters are committed to delivering quality content through sound, and my personal mission is to help those with hearing impairments receive it."

Among those who attended the event were Minnesota Congressmen John Kline and Erik Paulsen, and Heather Whitestone-McCallum, Miss America 1995 and the first deaf woman to wear the Miss America crown.
