Minneapolis, Nov. 23, 2010 - Starkey Laboratories, Inc., a global leader in hearing technology, is proud to announce that the Starkey Hearing Foundation partnered with the Country Music Association to bring the gift of hearing to children and adults from Nashville and surrounding areas. The mission was held last week in conjunction with the 44th Annual CMA Awards at the Nashville Convention Center. More than 75 children and adults received free hearing aids during the mission sponsored by Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation, FedEx, United Health Group and the Country Music Association.

"When we help a child hear, we connect that child with life," said Bill Austin, Founder of the Starkey Hearing Foundation. "There is no disability, only ability, and it is my personal mission to help these children use that ability to reach their full potential and enjoy the beautiful sounds in our world."

The event included appearances from country artists Lee Ann Womack, Steel Magnolia's Meghan Linsey, Sarah Darling, and NFL Hall of Famers Joe DeLamielleure and Raymond Berry. Other guests included Rick Evans, Emma Jacobs, Daisy Mallory, Justin Moore, Ray Pillow, Ronnie Reno, Scott Rouse, Lang Scott, Jordyn Shellhart, Heather Whitestone McCallum and Chuck Wicks.
