On April 28, Starkey Laboratories' Founder and CEO William F. Austin christened the company's new facility named in his honor.
Industry partners, project contributors and a variety of media attended the grand opening of the new William F. Austin Center, the $12 million addition to the 40-acre Starkey corporate campus in Eden Prairie, Minn.
The new building serves as the primary headquarters for the company's comprehensive Starkey First student and professional educational outreach programs.
Starkey President Jerry Ruzicka said, "The William F. Austin Center allows Starkey to further enhance our long-term commitment to education."
The center's cutting-edge auditorium is equipped with the latest multimedia technologies to enhance the training experience. It can be divided into two rooms, each with its own plasma television and projection technologies, along with videoconferencing, closed-circuit broadcasting and recording capabilities.Austin expressed his pride in the new structure. "Our beautiful new facility will help us grow for years to come. Armed with the tools to deliver, we can continue to offer professionals advanced training to help more patients benefit from our products."
