Eden Prairie, Minnesota (November 8, 2023) – As the only American-owned hearing aid company, Starkey is committed to caring for those who have dedicated their lives in service of our country. To honor and support veterans in our communities, Starkey’s corporate social responsibility program launched the Starkey Cares Veteran Support Grant program and is donating $25,000 to organizations supporting veterans.

“Starkey is honored to provide grants to organizations serving U.S. veterans to increase their ability to assist America’s heroes and their families,” said Brandon Sawalich, President and CEO at Starkey. “Exposure to loud noise is common in the military, making hearing loss and ringing in the ears, known as tinnitus, two of the most common service-related injuries. Starkey is committed to helping those who have served our country get the resources and assistance they deserve.”

Starkey is providing grants to the following organizations aimed at helping veterans:

  • Project Got Your Back - The mission of Project Got Your Back is to optimize veteran well-being and ensure connection. They unite the community that supports veterans and help our heroes and those connected to the military navigate resources. They pair veterans with their trained Navigators for one year, to individually helpveterans navigate the resources in their network, which all too often go unused.
  • Darkhorse Lodge - Darkhorse Lodge is a retreat for combat veterans from all branches of service to come to relax, fish on Kentucky Lake, enjoy area activities, and spend time with others who have walked in their boots, all at no cost.
  • Magnus Veterans Foundation – The Magnus Veterans Foundation helps bridge the gap between military service and home with the mission of healing and honoring our veterans and their families through community fellowship and a comprehensive approach to restoring the body, heart, mind, and spirit.
  • Griffin Center/SoundStart – The Griffin Center/SoundStart provides comprehensive care to deaf and hard of hearing children and their families by providing expertise and support. They will use the grant to help children of veterans receive the hearing health resources they deserve.
