The CASLPA conference also kicks off Speech and Hearing Awareness Month, which has been celebrated throughout North America during the month of May since 1927. Millions of Canadians have a speech, language, or hearing disorder. Speech-language pathology and audiology professionals evaluate and treat people with speech, language, hearing, swallowing, balance and other related difficulties. May month generates awareness that encourages early detection and prevention of these types of disorders.
Numerous partners have helped make this conference possible, including the generous support of premium sponsors Government of Yukon, Education and Government of Yukon, Health and Social Services, preferred sponsors AON Reed Stenhouse and Pearson Clinical Assessment and a number of other speaker and break sponsors.
The Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists is a not-for-profit organization that represents the professional needs of more than 5,500 speech-language pathologists, audiologists and supportive personnel.
