Speech, Language and Hearing the Focus of CASLPA Conference

Ottawa, ON - Kananaskis country will host the 33rd annual conference of the Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (CASLPA), April 16-19. Professionals from across Canada will gather in Alberta's picturesque Canadian Rockies in pursuit of leading edge professional knowledge. Invited speakers will present on a wide range of topics including central auditory processing, pre-linguistic interventions, second language acquisition, middle ear assessment, tinnitus, balance disorders and stuttering.

The conference kicks off with opening ceremonies on Wednesday, April 16. Friday, April 18 will feature the CASLPA annual general meeting and the annual CASLPA awards ceremony and dinner will be held to recognize both members and non-members for their significant contributions to the professions of speech-language pathology and audiology. CASLPA is also honouring 55 long-term members who have belonged to the association for more than 25 years. These individuals, along with a group of 478 other 25+ year members, together represent 13,325 years of service to the professions and the communities and patients they serve. The CASLPA conference also kicks off Speech and Hearing Awareness Month which is celebrated across the country throughout the month of May.
