HIA Press Release - November 14, 2005--Last week, the FDA published in the Federal Register, an updated ANSI Standard for "Specification of Hearing Aid Characteristics" (previous ANSI S3.22-1996). A copy of this notice in the Federal Register is available www.fda.gov/OHRMS/DOCKETS/98fr/05-22267.htm
The new ANSI standard is available via purchase through the Acoustical Society of America (ASA), who developed the new standard asa.aip.org/standards/NatCat.pdf
While the FDA will consider any comments received in determining whether or not to amend the new ANSI standard, please note that this standard became effective upon its publication in the Federal Register.
