Sonus Announces Resignation of Chairman Brandon M. Dawson

Mr. Dawson Remains as a Member of the Board of Directors

Portland, OR - Sonus Corp. (AMEX: SSN), the largest audiology-based retailer of hearing instruments in North America with 1,346 Company-owned and affiliated hearing centers, today announced that Brandon M. Dawson has resigned as Chairman of the Board of Directors to pursue other interests. Mr. Dawson joined Sonus in 1995 as President and Chief Executive Officer, and became Chairman of the Board in December 1998. Mr. Dawson will remain a member of Sonus' Board of Directors.

Commenting on Mr. Dawson's resignation, Dan Kohl, Chief Executive Officer of Sonus Corp., stated, "Seven years ago Brandon recognized the opportunity to change our industry.
