Eagan, Minn.— Sonic, a U.S.-based manufacturer of hearing care solutions, moved the company's Minnesota production facility into a new 20,000-plus-square-foot building in the city of Eagan on Nov. 1. Sonic will employ over 90 people at the manufacturing facility and will lease the new space developed by architects, WJR, Inc.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at the new facility, located at 1020 Discovery Road in Eagan on Thursday, Nov. 10 at noon. Dignitaries scheduled to speak at the ribbon cutting include Joseph A. Lugara, Sonic president and COO, and Jon Hohenstein, director of Community Development for the City of Eagan.

"We are looking forward to relocating into this state-of-the-art production facility," said Lugara. "When William Demant Holding (WDH) acquired Sonic in November 2010 we were excited about the opportunity to access the vast resources WDH could offer Sonic. Working with WDH planning and efficiency experts has allowed us to design a modern home for our U.S. manufacturing operations that improve our productivity and efficiency. Plus our employees are excited about moving into their home where the interior reflects our new Sonic rebranding."

The Sonic world headquarters will also relocate from Salt Lake City, Utah to a new, larger facility in Somerset, N.J. in early 2012. Sonic has also established a new international office in Switzerland, focusing on the needs of its international customers and distributors around the world.
