ALTAIR™ Line Makes Debut at American Academy of Dispensing Audiologists (ADA) Meeting
Salt Lake City, Utah, --Sonic Innovations, Inc. (Nasdaq: SNCI) announced the introduction of its latest hearing aid line - ALTAIR™ - at the American Academy of Dispensing Audiologists (ADA) meeting held in San Diego. Based upon the sophisticated electronics and sound processing capability embodied in Sonic Innovations' world class NATURA™ 2 SE line, the ALTAIR line provides high quality 100% digital sound processing at a price expected to be equivalent to that of a low-end digital or high-end programmable analog hearing aid.
Andy Raguskus, President and CEO, stated, ''We are very excited to be announcing our third branded product line in two years. Our expectations for ALTAIR are very high. We believe that hearing impaired customers, many of whom are elderly and on a fixed income, will be very pleased to have a more affordable option for a high quality 100% digital hearing aid. We believe the price-performance of this aid is quite spectacular. We are fully prepared to take orders for the product for immediate delivery at the ADA.''
Robert P. Wolf, Vice President, Marketing and e-Business added, ''This product line is just what the market has been asking for. ALTAIR will take our digital technology into the mainstream of hearing aid fitting by providing affordable high-end digital hearing aids to hearing health care professionals and consumers alike. As hearing health care professionals pass the cost savings through to their customers (hearing impaired consumers), we hope that our advanced digital technology will become the preferred choice in hearing assistance for both new and repeat purchasers seeking high performance digital hearing aids.''
Sonic Innovations designs, manufactures and markets advanced digital hearing aids and hearing aid components designed to provide the highest levels of satisfaction for hearing impaired consumers. Capitalizing on a new understanding of human hearing, the company has developed patented digital signal processing, or DSP, technologies and embedded them in the smallest single-chip DSP platform ever installed in a hearing aid. The company believes its NATURA and CONFORMA hearing aids set a new standard for consumer satisfaction because they are smaller, more comfortable and more reliable and deliver more natural sound than competing hearing aids.
