Siemens Hearing Instruments has announced the launch of VoiceLinkTM, its latest audiology innovation for miniTek® Bluetooth® streaming device users. It is a remote companion microphone system that improves the listening experience for the user when accompanied by a friend, colleague or partner in challenging acoustic situations where there is background noise. This could include busy restaurants, crowded airports or conference events.

VoiceLink works in partnership with Siemens’ miniTek remote streamer for hearing instruments. It increases the signal-to-noise ratio, improving speech clarity. It is a simple to use solution and is particularly effective in situations where background noise could impede speech clarity and therefore conversation understanding. The remote microphone is simply clipped onto the speaker’s lapel or sits inside a top pocket to transmit their voice via Bluetooth, clearly and effectively to the miniTek device worn by the hearing instrument wearer. VoiceLink can be used at distance of up to 20 metres in free field situations, making it a flexible solution.
Delivering an audio bandwidth range of 100 Hz to seven kHz, VoiceLink is an effective device, yet remains small and lightweight. Simple to operate and featuring a rechargeable battery, it provides up to five hours of talk time on just a single charge.
