Siemens Introduces Three New BTE Instruments to its PRISMA™ 2 Product Family of Hearing Solutions

PISCATAWAY, N.J., March 23, 2004 - Siemens Hearing Instruments announces three new BTEs have joined its PRISMA™ 2 family of hearing instruments: PRISMA 2 D SP, PRISMA 2 VC and PRISMA 2 P VC. All PRISMA 2 instruments, both custom and BTE styles, offer improved listening, fitting and wearing comfort by combining PRISMA's fully digital quality with updated features, and improved TwinMic™ directional microphone technology (available on select models). Passive and adaptive feedback algorithms in PRISMA 2 allow more gain without annoying feedback for many patients.

About the PRISMA 2 D SP

Delivering maximum output of 138 dB and maximum gain of 81 dB, PRISMA 2 D SP is the first super power instrument in the PRISMA 2 family to offer a directional microphone system. Suitable for severe to profound hearing loss, four individual hearing programs are available for microphone, audio boot and telecoil mode. An advanced Voice Activity Detection (VAD) noise reduction system and programmable volume control are standard features. Extremely suitable for pediatric fittings, PRISMA 2 D SP comes standard with Automatic Audio Input Detection when FM systems and other devices are connected. PRISMA 2 D SP replaces the current PRISMA 2 SP+ BTE.

About the PRISMA 2 VC and PRISMA 2 P VC

The PRISMA 2 VC and PRISMA 2 P VC come standard with programmable volume control. Other standard features include directional microphone system, VAD noise reduction system and audio input. PRISMA 2 VC is suitable for mild through moderate hearing loss while PRISMA 2 P VC is suitable for moderate to severe losses.
