Piscataway NJ-- Siemens Introduces Signia™, the first of a new generation of digital hearing aids that process sound using artificial intelligence.
Available in CIC, ITC, and BTE models, Signia is the world's first and only hearing aid with ConTrast™, a sophisticated artificial intelligence system that monitors the input signal, analyzes it, and decides how to process the sound for optimum hearing-- with split-second precision.
One million transistors on a 3mm by 4mm computer chip power the patent-pending ConTrast technology.
Signia features include Environmental Noise Reduction, Transitory Signal Enhancement, and multichannel control of gain, kneepoint, compression type and compression ratio. A two-stage Anti-Feedback System constantly checks for feedback and reacts instantly to help eliminate it.
Signia also offers improved performance with cordless and cellular phones.
Siemens directional TwinMic™ system, available on ITE and BTE models, lets the wearer decide whether to focus on sound coming from directly in front, such as the person speaking to them in a restaurant, or to pick up sound from all directions, such as the sounds of nature when walking in the park.
When activated by the Hearing Health Care Professional, a 'beep' tells the wearer which program they have activated, and warns when it is time to replace the battery.
Signia is configured using PC-based, NOAH-compatible CONNEXX™ software that offers four stages of adjustment, from a simple, one-button fitting approach to global access.
