Siemens Hearing Instruments UK Launches New Discreet Hearing Device in UK

Share:
Fully-customised CIC hearing instrument, Eclipse, delivers greatest possible comfort with technology out of sight.

Siemens Hearing Instruments has announced the launch of the new Eclipse™ hearing device, its latest solution for those hard of hearing. The completely-in-canal (CIC) device has been innovated to sit deeper in the ear canal than other hearing instruments to improve hearing comfortably and without being seen.

The new CIC hearing instrument from Siemens Hearing instruments, 'Eclipse', is a discreet mini-hearing instrument that sits deeper than previous CIC hearing instruments.

Featuring Siemens' newly launched BestSound™ technology XCEL, Eclipse offers improved speech comprehension and clear balanced sound. It is available in two different performance levels for mild hearing loss.

Eclipse was innovated as part of Siemens' Agenda 2013 initiative that aims to further strengthen the company's innovative power and competitiveness. The new instrument is so small and precise that it can be placed deep in the ear canal, deeper than previous instruments. The individually made housing with a small foam tip on the end snuggles securely into the ear. Its deep location prevents the occlusion effect, which distorts the sound of people's own voice in similar instruments and is often considered unpleasant.

Despite this deep placement, Eclipse can be put into place and removed quickly and easily, without the risk of causing any physical damage. It is easy to exchange both the battery and, for hygienic reasons, the foam tip, which is available in three different sizes.

"Eclipse is ideal for those who want a near invisible but effective hearing solution," states Wendy Davies, National Sales and Audiology Manager at Siemens Hearing Instruments. "Hidden deep in the ear canal, the instrument delivers improved sound quality and maximum user-comfort. It is small enough not to be noticed and this will appeal to many people who have mild hearing loss and for vanity or confidence reasons don't want to draw attention to wearing a traditional instrument."

Eclipse was launched at the BSHAA annual congress, which also saw Siemens Hearing Instruments launch its latest generation of BestSound technology, XCEL. This new technology offers improved speech comprehension, balanced sound, a new fitting strategy and a fine-tuning tool to tailor sound quality to individual requirements. Siemens XCEL technology is available with the Eclipse deep-fit solution, as well as Siemens Pure and Motion instruments.
