Latest hearing aid technology now available in Siemens' most popular line of in-the-ear (ITE) hearing devices.

Piscataway, NJ, August 27, 2012 - Siemens Hearing Instruments, Inc. today announced its Motion® lineup of custom hearing instruments will feature XCEL, the new generation of clinically proven BestSound™ Technology. With XCEL, hearing care professionals can now offer Siemens' latest technology in its best-selling family of custom hearing aids — giving wearers the most choices in discretion, comfort and wireless connectivity. Featuring an improved manufacturing process, smaller components and more flexible designs, Motion offers the industry's most comprehensive lineup of in-the-ear (ITE) hearing aids. The expansion of XCEL technology into Motion custom hearing aids further supports Agenda 2013, which is a two-year global initiative launched by the Siemens Healthcare Sector in November 2011, with the goal of increasing the company's competitiveness and innovative capacity.

"The response to XCEL has been phenomenal, and our customers are asking for more," said Scott Davis, CEO, Siemens Hearing Instruments, Inc. "By extending XCEL technology to our Motion in-the-ear line, we're making that perfect balance of natural sound quality and hearing comfort available to even more hearing aid wearers."

Motion XCEL custom hearing aids feature a new nanocoated surface and are available in a full range of performance levels (701, 501, 301 and 101), in all shell sizes, and in five skin tone colors. VoiceLink™, a new voice transmitter accessory that connects to a companion microphone and delivers sound wirelessly via Siemens' award-winning miniTek®, is also compatible with all Motion XCEL custom hearing aids including Motion CIC (completely-in-the-canal).

The Motion product family has always focused on comfort and ease-of-use," said Davis. "Combine that with industry-leading XCEL technology and you have a custom hearing aid that delivers unrivaled listening comfort, speech clarity and individualized hearing from the very first fit."

Motion XCEL custom instruments join five otherSiemens hearing aid models featuring XCEL technology: the discreet Pure® XCEL and Pure® XCEL Carat, the behind-the-ear (BTE) Motion® XCEL models SX and P, and the new Eclipse™ XCEL — a revolutionary deep-fit CIC hearing aid that is nearly invisible, extremely comfortable and entails a simple, deep-fit impression procedure.

Launched by Siemens Healthcare Sector in November 2011, Agenda 2013 is a two-year global initiative to further strengthen the Healthcare Sector's innovative power and competitiveness.
