Local Patrons to Benefit from Enhanced Theatre Experience

LA MIRADA, CA. -
As a goodwill gesture to its new community, Siemens Hearing Instruments recently donated ten of its top-of-the-line DirectEar™ Set 100 infrared assistive listening devices to the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts.

The product donation was presented by David Sawyer, vice president of marketing for Siemens Hearing Instruments, to Devis Andrade, house manager of the Theatre, during Siemens' grand opening of its new state-of-the-art, high-tech manufacturing facility in La Mirada, California on January 10. The 28,000 square foot facility houses Siemens' exclusive LasR™ (Laser Accurate Scan Replication) lab. Utilizing digital mechanical assembly technology, precision laser scanning and cutting-edge computer software, LasR technology enables Siemens to more precisely create the outer case of hearing instruments, allowing for more accurate and comfortably fitting hearing instruments.

The presentation of the donation was followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony, tours of the new facility, and a reception. Key Siemens Hearing personnel along with local government officials took part in the grand opening celebration.

"Siemens is very proud to be a member of the La Mirada community," said Sawyer. "The City has welcomed us with opened arms and we are looking forward to a continued relationship. Our donation to the Theatre demonstrates our commitment to the community in which our employees work and live, and to improving the quality of life for hearing impaired people."

The Siemens' DirectEar Set 100 infrared assistive listening devices donated to the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts deliver crystal clear sound, giving patrons the feeling that they are sitting front and center no matter where they sit in the theatre. The DirectEar is compatible with various degrees of hearing impairment: the device can be used with or without the hearing instrument by using hearing instrument accessories that plug into the headset, allowing a larger group of hearing impaired patrons to benefit.

"We offer our deepest gratitude to our friends at Siemens Hearing," said Devis Andrade, house manager of the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts. "These assistive listening devices will make our theatre accessible to more hearing impaired patrons and will ensure that they have the best possible theatre experience."
