miniTek® Remote App allows discreet control of hearing aids via miniTek on Android™ devices Siemens honored for second consecutive year in the Accessible and Universal Design category.
Today, Siemens Hearing Instruments miniTek® and miniTek® Remote App were named a 2014 CES Innovation Design and Engineering Awards Honoree by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA®), the producer of the International CES. The products were honored in the Accessible and Universal Design category for demonstrating ease-of-use and accessibility to consumers, including seniors and people with disabilities, and were judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the consumer electronics trade media for outstanding design and engineering.
The Siemens miniTek is a combined streamer and remote control that seamlessly connects hearing aids to phones, TVs, music and other audio devices simultaneously via Bluetooth® and other wireless technologies. With the miniTek App, wearers have full access to all the features of the miniTek, allowing them to discreetly adjust their hearing aids’ volume, switch audio sources, select a preferred listening environment, and even see a visual display of their hearing aids’ status—right from their Android device.
“We are extremely pleased to have our products recognized by the CEA for the second consecutive year,” said Scott Davis, Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Hearing Instruments, Inc.“Having our high-tech streamer and app receive this level of recognition further motivates us to continue developing innovative solutions that improve people’s lives.”
Siemens miniTek and miniTek Remote App will be exhibited at CES Unveiled from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2014 in South Seas Ballroom C at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The products will also be on public display at The Venetian’s Innovations Showcase, part of the 2014 International CES, January 7-10, 2014.
