Siemens Hearing Instruments, Inc., announces the release of its new Silhouette™ Plus impression system.
An innovative mechanical design in the Silhouette dispensing gun provides more leverage so less pressure is required to squeeze the handle and dispense the material.
Silhouette Plus uses the superior polyvinylsiloxane material formulated to deliver the most accurate ear impression. The system utilizes three mixing tips to add to the ease and accuracy in creating an impression. Small yellow tips are for pediatrics, deep canals and very narrow or collapsed ear canals, medium pink tips are for standard canals, and large blue/green tips are for void-free non-canal impressions.
The Silhouette Plus impression system is designed to maximize precision and minimize time with the unique dual characteristics of the smooth-flowing medium viscosity blend of the polyvinylsiloxane material. The material starts out to be soft, pliable and, most importantly, comfortable for the patient while the impression is made. The material continues to cure after the impression is removed from the patient's ear and then becomes extremely hard by the time it reaches the lab so that technicians are assured of the most accurate impression.
The start-up kit for the Silhouette Plus consists of the redesigned dispensing gun, four cartridges and 18 standard mixing tips that makes up to 20 impressions. Refill kits contain eight cartridges and 36 tips.
