Siemens Announces Promotions and New Employees

Piscataway, NJ, February 10, 2005 - Siemens Hearing Instruments, Inc. announces the promotion and addition of several key individuals joining the Siemens team. These individuals enable the company to continue to provide Hearing Care Professionals with world-class service. Siemens employees are:

Timm F. Bishop, Western Region Operations Manager

Timm F. Bishop, Western Operations Manager, is now responsible for production efforts in the California facility including the LasR Lab, Assembly, and Repair Departments. Prior to joining Siemens, Bishop served as plant manager in a consumer product facility. He is a graduate of Cal State University and holds a bachelor's degree in History. Timm also received a master's degree in Management and Business Administration from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. Additionally, Timm is a graduate of The Basic School, Naval Flight School, and Amphibious Warfare School. He previously served as Captain for the United States Marine Corps and a CH-53 Helicopter Pilot.

Steve Levine, Manager, Continuous Improvement

Steve Levine has accepted the position of Manager, Continuous Improvement at SHI-NJ. Steve has over 15 years of manufacturing and materials experience in the telecommunications and medical device manufacturing industries. Steve's prior roles at SHI were as Project Manager, Advance Manufacturing, and Operations Manager.

Steve holds bachelor of science and bachelor of art degrees in Industrial Engineering and Statistics from Rutgers University in New Jersey, as well as a master's degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University in Indiana.

Steve is responsible for management of all green belt and black belt projects (elements of the Six Sigma quality program) within SHI. He will formalize the Continuous Improvement Process to help develop, assign, and track the progress of projects assigned to our internal green belt and black belt candidates. Additionally, Steve will have responsibility for the 3i (Ideas, Innovations, and Initiatives) program as well as other activities associated with quality and productivity improvement.

Jim Sewell, Northeast Regional Sales Manager

Siemens welcomes Jim Sewell as Northeast Regional Sales Manager. Jim has over 15 years of experience in the medical industry. Prior to joining Siemens, he was most recently Area Sales Director at GE Healthcare, where he was responsible for managing all aspects of field activity. As Northeast Regional Manager, Jim is responsible for managing territory sales representatives and overseeing activities to maintain and develop business in the Northeast Region. His expertise in building key partnerships and problem solving will help drive success as the newest member to the Siemens team. Jim is a graduate of Johns Hopkins School of Radiology and holds a degree in Radiologic Technology.

Chris Trinh, Southeast Region Operations Manager

Siemens welcomes Chris Trinh as the new Southeast Operations Manager. He is responsible for all operations and manufacturing personnel at the Georgia facility. His goal is to ensure the highest quality of work and productivity in order to guarantee customer satisfaction. Prior to joining Siemens, Chris successfully established the Quality Department at Siemens Hearing in Australia and assisted with training and manufacturing management of hearing instruments at Siemens Medical Instruments in Singapore.

Jose Vieira, Northeast Region Operations Manager

Jose Vieira will assume responsibilities as Northeast Operations Manager at Siemens Hearing Instruments. Jose has over 24 years experience with the company, including eight years as Operations Manager and most recently as Advanced Manufacturing Project Manager. His extensive knowledge of the company's products, processes, and people will allow him to continue to improve manufacturing operations to deliver high quality products to our customers in a timely manner. He is responsible for product quality, turnaround time, and customer satisfaction. He is a graduate of the College D'enseignement in Paris, France and has a degree in electronics. He is fluent in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.
