WHAT: Annual convention of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), with the theme "Communication: Our Strongest Link"

WHO: More than 10,000 speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and speech, language and hearing scientists will gather to discuss recent issues and developments in the treatment of communication disorders, as well as their roles in collaboration, literacy and enriching cultural diversity.
Keynote speakers will include ABC News correspondent John Stossel, accepting ASHA's Media Award for International Communications and relating his experiences with speech-language pathologists; and ABC News/National Public Radio analyst Cokie Roberts and husband Steven, who will discuss collaboration in their work and life as well as talk about the state of the economy and other current issues.
The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association is the national professional, scientific, and credentialing association for more than 107,000 audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and speech, language, and hearing scientists. Audiologists specialize in preventing and assessing hearing disorders as well as providing audiologic treatment including hearing aids. Speech-language pathologists identify, assess, and treat speech and language problems including swallowing disorders.
