The San Francisco Opera announces that it will provide a new benefit to the musicians in the San Francisco Opera Orchestra by providing one pair of custom-fitted earplugs for each of its regular members through the non-profit organization H.E.A.R.- Hearing Education and Awareness for Rockers.
The Opera announcement coincides with National May Better Hearing and Speech Month.
Kathy Peck , Executive Director of H.E.A.R. explains that It is not only rock musicians who can suffer from music induced hearing loss. Musicians earplugs were originally made by Etymotic Research for the Chicago Symphony players. The Opera Orchestra new benefit to its members really helps to highlight the importance of hearing for all musicians.
H.E.A.R. is thrilled to work with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra. It's wise to remember that your ears are the most important musical instrument.
San Francisco Opera and H.E.A.R. are working together for hearing conservation.
