Bloomington, MN, August 25, 2011 - https://www.gnresound.com - ReSound, the technology leader in hearing aid solutions, is partnering with the Minnesota Academy of Audiology to give away 2,500 4-packs of hearing aid batteries at this year's MN State Fair.
State fair goers can visit the MN Academy of Audiology booth at the KARE 11 Health Booth to get a hearing screening or pick up their free hearing aid batteries donated by ReSound.
With more than 28 million Americans experiencing some form of hearing loss, and that number only expected to increase, ReSound is urging people to "stick up for better hearing". The average hearing impaired individual will endure 7 years of denial before seeking treatment, which is an alarming statistic.
Both video otoscopy and hearing screening will be available at the MN Academy of Audiology Booth.
- Video Otoscopy - the audiologist will show you your own eardrum on a TV and inspect the health of your ear canal and eardrum.
- Hearing Screening - the audiologist will perform a brief screen of your hearing in a small booth. Due to background noise in the building and time, a full diagnostic test is not possible. However, if the audiologist is concerned about hearing loss he or she will recommend you be seen for a full diagnostic test at an audiologist's office near you.
