Minneapolis, MN (December 11, 2007) - As part of the company's commitment to education and professional development, ReSound hosted 60 AuD students from across the U.S. during the ReSound Azure: Audiology Student Symposium, December 5 through 8, 2007. ReSound executives and audiologists shared their knowledge, experience and expertise with the students in order to assist in their professional development.
The symposium gave students a break from traditional classroom learning with hands on experience. Plus, they were treated to a scavenger hunt and dinner at the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN where the ReSound headquarters are located. At the end of the event, John Nelson Ph.D., ReSound VP of audiology and professional services, presented students with their first otoscope.
"The hands on experience was the most valuable part of the symposium," says Jennifer C. Graber, third year audiology student at Ball State University. "The classroom provides important theoretical knowledge, but hands on experience will makes us the best audiologists we can be."
Students, like Graber, were welcomed by John Nelson, and received instruction from the ReSound audiology team. They also had the opportunity to interact with the custom manufacturing personnel.
Other seminar topics included:
- New Technology
- Software orientation
- Patient counseling
- Manufacturing tour
- Hearing aid modification
